Sturdy Memorial Hospital Amateur Radio Club

Sturdy Memorial Hospital Amateur Radio Club (S.M.H.A.R.C.) was formed in the aftermath of the Blizzard of 1978. A group of ham radio operators teamed up to provide emergency communications to support local officials and to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital. The club, already past its 42nd year, has a fully equipped radio station and is capable of assisting in emergency communications operations support for the general Attleboro area should the need arise. Club members include technical experts in radio communications, emergency radio operations, radio technology, Information Technology and other associated areas relating to Amateur Radio. SMHARC is a member of the American Radio Relay League(ARRL) www.arrl.org

MORE SAD NEW TO REPORT
With all the Crazy things have have been happening this year 2020. At the beginning of the month Dec.
we had very high winds and some very wet snow. Well the Radio Clubs & Hospitals Tower that houses
the antenna's and repeater took on some serious damage. The top 10ft. section folded over but is still
attached, and for safety reasons the Club Offices chose to shut down the repeater till the antenna is repaired.
With the high cost for the repair we will need to open a Donation Fund to help fund the project that lies
before us. Any and all donations should be marked as "Tower Fund". We are working to set up a "Go Fund Me"
page or Pay Pal page to solicit funds for other Hams and Non-Hams alike.
For donations you may send checks to our Clubs Secretary/Treasure Ray Cord "K2TGX"
316 S. Worcester St. Norton, Ma. 02766
As of now ALL our Meetings will be canceled unless we can run on our frequency of 147.195
simplex. More information to Follow.
